Quick Review: Kraken Studio 1/12 Crime Buster (Scale & Height Comparison)

Kraken Studio has been showing up more often in the 1/12 scale category, and their Crime Buster a.k. Punisher figure is a solid example of why collectors are starting to take notice. Designed with a gritty, street-level aesthetic, this figure fits perfectly into tactical or vigilante-style displays.

First Impressions

Right out of the box, Crime Buster feels big and solid. The body is thicker than most standard 1/12 figures, with broad shoulders and well-defined muscles. The sculpt looks realistic without going overboard, giving the figure a grounded, no-nonsense vibe.

Articulation is generally good and very usable for standing poses and light action stances, making it a strong option for both display and toy photography.

Scale & Height Comparison

When placed next to other popular 1/12 figures, the differences are easy to spot, from left to right are Kitbash Punisher using GW Toys blank body, Mezco Punisher (Spec Ops), Kraken Studio Crime Buster, and Marvel Legends Punisher (with Motorcycle). Crime Buster appears slightly taller and bulkier but still blends well with other 1/12 scale figures and doesn’t feel out of place.

    Pros

    • Comes with plenty of accessories, including multiple weapons
    • Uses cloth outfit / soft goods, adding realism and flexibility
    • Solid body proportions with a strong shelf presence
    • Works well alongside Mezco and Marvel Legends figures

    Cons

    • Ankle joints and boots are not very flexible, limiting extreme poses
    • Swapping hands and head parts can be difficult because the peg holes are very tight (Heating the parts first is recommended to avoid damage)

    Final Thoughts

Kraken Studio’s Crime Buster is a great choice if you’re looking for a beefier 1/12 scale Punisher action figure with a tactical, street-level vibe. While it has a few minor issues with articulation and part swapping, the strong sculpt, soft-goods outfit, and generous accessories make it a solid addition to any 1/12 collection.

If you’re a fan of Punisher-style characters or darker, grounded displays, this figure is definitely worth considering.
