When Doctor Doom gets a reissue, the big question is always the same: Is it still worth it? especially at a higher price point?

The reissue of Mezco One:12 Collective Doctor Doom has definitely gone up in price compared to its original release. And understandably, some collectors are hesitant. Reissues are supposed to give a second chance—not raise the bar financially. So is it justified?
In my honest opinion: yes.
Even today, this remains one of the best interpretations of Doctor Doom in 1/12 scale. The tailoring, the fabric textures, the layered armor, the wired cape, everything captures that regal, imposing presence that makes Victor Von Doom such an iconic character. It balances realism with comic-book authority better than most releases out there.
That said, it’s not perfect.
The weakest point, in my view, has always been the mask design. It lacks some of the sharpness and intensity that Doom’s faceplate should convey. For a character whose presence relies heavily on that cold, intimidating stare, the mask is everything.
That’s exactly why I decided to elevate it.

By upgrading it with a custom mask for Mezco Doctor Doom, the figure reaches its full potential with classic designs. The sharper sculpt, refined proportions, and more menacing expression transform an already great figure into what I genuinely consider the definitive Doom in this scale.
So is the reissue worth it at the higher price?
If you’re a serious Doctor Doom collector or you want the best 1/12 Doctor Doom representation available, the answer is yes. And with the right custom upgrade, it becomes something truly exceptional.
